Collection: About Ann Seale

Ann Ostenson Seale, a Mississippi native, holds a background in art education. After teaching art in Atlanta for a couple of years, she returned to school to pursue a master’s degree in art education. Upon graduating, she worked closely with the Craftsman’s Guild of Mississippi as their education coordinator. This role provided her with valuable exposure to various art forms and artists, including Choctaw basket weaving, Mississippi crossroads quilting, and sheep to shawl spinning and weaving wool.

Now, as a proud mother of two, she balances her artistic pursuits with her family responsibilities. Her subject matter has evolved over the years, moving from still life and landscape to more figurative artwork primarily created with oil paint. She has studied with well known artists such as Bob Tompkins, David Leffel, Sherri Magraw, Roger Dale Brown, and has attended the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of New York for continuing education in painting. Her artwork has also been exhibited in a group show at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
