Work(s) in Progress by Amy Crabb

Amy pays tribute to the simplicity of early sketching with this collection, while also incorporating layers of texture and added interest. Each piece represents the process of creation and how simplicity has the ability to be stunning.

Window Things

Amy aimed to challenge the conventional idea of a "completed" artwork and restrain herself from over-editing. She has always been fascinated by the unfinished look of a painting in progress, where you can still see the initial layers and trace the artist's creative journey through those early strokes.

True Blue

She finds it essential to embrace the metaphor of her artistic career as a "work in progress." Initially, Amy thought that achieving a 100% confidence in "her style" was the ultimate goal when she started painting. However, as she continues to create, she has come to realize that she doesn't necessarily need or want to reach that stage, and she's not even certain if it's achievable.

Begonias in a Planter

Amy values the process, the learning, the creative habits she is developing, and the ups and downs of exploration without being confined to a defined style.

Splendor

"My goal is always to see my artwork on the walls of people’s homes. What an honor! To be loved enough to become something that is a part of the daily comings and goings of someone else’s life," said Amy.

Peaches and Cream

Amy is constantly inspired by music as well. She has given us an exclusive peek into her world with a playlist she enjoyed while creating Work(s) in Progress. It has several jams! Click below to listen.
