Introducing Housing Market, a brand new Raku collection by Pat Gavin!
We are so excited to share new work by ceramicist Pat Gavin. For years, Pat has explored the possibilities of clay through both high-fired stoneware and the unpredictable, expressive process of Raku. Housing Market brings together a new body of Raku-fired work, created as an opportunity to make, experiment, and learn through the process of creating new forms.
Raku is a centuries-old Japanese firing technique in which each piece is removed from the kiln at approximately 1800°F and placed into combustible material, creating a reducing atmosphere that produces distinctive surfaces, colors, and markings. For Pat, that unpredictability is part of the challenge and the reward.
