Introducing Amelia Loren Smith

We would like to introduce you to our newest teammate, Amelia Loren Smith! She joins us as a content creator, event planner, and interior designer. A little bit about Amelia:

Amelia Loren Smith is a Tupelo native and a c/o 2003 Tupelo High School grad. While in college at School Of Visual Arts, Amelia Loren Smith very diligently pursued her interior design career working directly with Stephen Wanta of Wanta Architect on various projects—retail, commercial, residential—from conception to completion. The duration of her employment there was from 2008- 2013.

Since graduating from School Of Visual Arts in 2009, Amelia has also become an internationally published art director and set designer with projects featured in ZINK (2011), SURFACE (2012), RELAPSE (2012), THE LAB (2013), FACTICE (2013), KENTON (2013); All drawing knowledge from her studies in art and design.

In 2014, she founded her own interior design firm Amelia Loren Smith Interior Design; garnering her first few clients in New York, Texas, and Virginia; along with a feature in DOMINO in 2015. That same year she acquired her first IMDb movie credit working on THE GIFT.

Most recently Amelia held a position as Visual Merchandising Manager with Great Performances overseeing the design aspects of concession, intermission bars and café aesthetic of venues within Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Apollo Theatre, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Poster House, and Wave Hill.

En Plein Air

Last Friday evening we opened the gallery up for the opening reception for En Plein Air. We had the best time celebrating artists from all over the South! Adam Trest live painted and everyone had a great time.

En Plein Air is every April in Downtown Laurel. It is the primary fundraiser for the Domestic Abuse Family Shelter, Inc. Kids and  painters from the surrounding area come out to paint scenes around Laurel outside. There is something about the fresh air that makes the day even better.

The rain may have crashed our Saturday afternoon but we enjoyed a beautiful morning of outdoor painting.

Watch us on HGTV's Home Town!

Every week Caron Gallery artists will be featured in the newly refurbished homes! Check out the Home Town Art section on our website and choose a great piece for your home.
