• Created by artists with special needs and dedicated volunteers, Routes and Roots transforms unfinished quilt pieces into a hand-quilted portrait of Mississippi.  Artists carefully stitch and label the highways, while the historic Natchez Trace winds across the state, connecting places, people, and stories.  Rich in texture and history, the work celebrates the journeys that shape both the landscape and the communities that call Mississippi home.
