About Madeleine Bridges

For Madeleine Bridges, art has always been part of life. Her mother, a natural with a paintbrush, nurtured Madeleine’s creativity. These artistic childhood days led to a few high school art classes and a job as a graphic designer upon Ole Miss graduation. It wasn’t until her husband was deployed for a year that Madeleine found her comfort and joy in oil painting—and knew this was going to be a lifelong passion. Madeleine now paints full time from her home studio in Oxford, Mississippi. Her work centers on the comforts found in the slow but beautiful life as a Southerner. The entire Bridges collection tells a story of mornings with man’s best friend, tranquil afternoons under oak trees, and festive evenings gathered around a table with others. To Madeleine, each painting is a reminder of what so many of us hold dear: the beauty of the place you call home.
