Collection: About Mary Parker Buckley

Mary Buckley is an artist currently living with her husband, Bill, in Ridgeland, Mississippi, where Bill serves as the State Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Mary is basically a self-taught artist.  Her college study at MSU gave her a degree in Piano Education and she has served many years as an ordained minister both in church music ministry and as a Chaplain to the terminally ill.  Her mother, Anne Parker, who was a well-respected artist and art teacher in the Jackson area, imparted to Mary at a young age a love and appreciation for beautiful art.

After enjoying years at home raising her children, Mary began pursuing art as a hobby and discovered a latent talent which progressed quickly with the help of pouring over instruction books, and private instruction from her mother.  Her work is primarily landscapes and florals with an impressionistic flair, done mostly in acrylic and watercolor.

Mary’s work has become more and more recognized and has found a place in many homes and businesses. She has had several one-man exhibits in Jackson and recently won ‘Best of Show’ at the Peterson Anderson Festival 2010 in Ocean Springs, MS, and at the Cotton District Festival in Starkville.

Mary’s work is represented by: The Caron Gallery in Tupelo and Negrottos’s Fine Art Gallery in Biloxi, MS
