Introducing Lee Gibson's new collection, Marsh Islands Waiting!

Lee Gibson just released a brand new landscape collection, Marsh Islands Waiting. While creating this collection, Lee found excitement in adding a new element to her paintings. As she sifted through her scrap oil skins, she felt inspired by the color and texture they could offer.
This discovery evolved into a new practice of intricately layering the skins to create depth and texture in her swamp-inspired landscapes. Though the adhesion process was sometimes challenging, Lee found this unique venture to be an exciting addition to this body of work.

This exploration tied directly into the collection’s creative purpose. Lee expressed, “I wanted to push the envelope with this collection—to see where new possibilities might be lying in wait.”
When asked how she would describe the collection, she explained that these paintings are not ordinary, but rather “a little icing on the cake.”

At its core, this collection is about exploration. “I am happy that I finally devoted more time to working with the oil skins, and I am looking forward to expanding their usage.”
Defined by bold palette knife work and richly layered surfaces, this collection is one we are so excited to share with you!
