| ABOUT LEIGH FRANCIS

Leigh Deen Francis is a glass artist specializing in the creation of original kiln-formed glass art.  A native Mississippian, Leigh’s art is inspired by the wonder and beauty of natural surroundings.  Each glass canvas is thoughtfully designed and individually hand painted.  The painted glass is then transformed through multiple kiln firings to produce a one-of-a-kind work of luminous art that enhances any setting.  Leigh’s fused mosaic pieces consist of four layers of glass, adding texture and depth of vibrant color that interact with light to produce pieces that are luxurious as well as useful. The process to create each glass object involves three to five days, with the final pieces providing both beauty and utility.

Creating from her studio in Starkville, Mississippi, Leigh is a self-taught artist continually learning and discovering new ways to transform glass, enamel and heat into functional objects of beauty that capture the heart as well as the imagination.
