Caron Gallery was in development for over 15 years, but only came to fruition 6 years ago. During those years, Kimberly Rose Caron spent her time raising two children, Emilie and Josh, and supporting the career of her husband, Richard. She had been patiently waiting for just the right time to make her dream of opening an art gallery a reality. Kim finally took that step of faith and opened Caron Gallery in August, 2010, after launching her website in April of that year.
Now the gallery is thriving and represents approximately 50 artists, with a wide range of mediums, from various cities, towns and communities in Mississippi. The gallery stays busy installing art in client’s homes, presenting exhibitions of gallery artists, art workshops for the novice and established artists and special events in Downtown Tupelo. The gallery added custom framing services in 2012, offering moulding from Larson Juhl, Roma, and Michealangelo, to name a few, and it is growing daily to meet the community’s needs.
Caron Gallery is located at 128 West Main Street in historic downtown Tupelo, MS. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10-5 and Saturday 10-4. Tupelo is located between Memphis, TN and Birmingham, AL along Interstate 22/Highway 78, which crosses North Mississippi. We welcome you to visit and view the amazing array of artwork in the gallery. We are certain you will find pieces to add to your own collection. Call us at (662) 205-0351 if you have any questions or need directions.
You might have seen our framer at the NMMC Wellness Center before meeting her at the Gallery. Amy worked at the Wellness Center for 12 years before starting her family with Dwayne Blackmon. Her children are Joy and Joshua Blackmon who are in college and finishing up high school, respectively. Amy has been hand making frames for seven years. It was a natural fit when Kim asked her to join Caron Gallery to become the custom framer for the gallery. Amy is a crafter at heart and her medium is wood. “I love building and designing my own frames, however, working at the Caron Gallery has opened up a whole new world of mat boards, glass options, various frame vendors, and supplies at my finger tips. The marriage of frame building and custom framing has been beneficial to me and to Caron Gallery for meeting all our customer’s framing needs no matter how it’s done”.
Paige began working at the Caron Gallery in 2012 while still in high school. Although she had very little retail experience, she shared Kim’s love for art. Paige is currently pursuing a degree in graphic design at Mississippi State University. She has already been able implement some of the techniques learned in her classes on many different design projects for the gallery’s different media platforms. Paige finds joy in connecting with customers and sharing her love for art with them. She has enjoyed the amazing feeling from helping people find pieces they love and place in their homes.
Jennifer is an Amory, MS native who moved with her family from Birmingham, AL to Tupelo over 8 years ago. She has a love for Tupelo and its thriving art community, and enjoys the wide variety of arts Mississippi has to offer. A vocalist with a degree in music education from Mississippi College, Jennifer can barely draw a stick figure, yet is passionate about the creativity that The Caron Gallery artists possess. She loves the easygoing atmosphere of the gallery, and her favorite part of her job is meeting the variety of customers and artists that come in each day. In addition to consulting with customers on their art selections, she is most dedicated to being married to her husband, Drew, and their 3 daughters, Olivia, Emerson, and Mallory.
Cindy is a transplant from Kentucky. With much trepidation, she moved to Tupelo in 2008 when her husband, Scott, transferred with his job. She has two sons Bradley and Jordan. With her sons grown, she had the desire to return to work and has been with the gallery since 2014. She enjoys meeting new customers and assisting them with art selection. She also assists with the gallery’s website and online sales. She says, “It is exciting to see our Mississippi art being shipped to different parts of the country”.
